Position overview

Based in the Paris Headquarter, and reporting to the CPO, this role caries the responsibility to close the gap between market expectations and R&D, defining the roadmap, the market positioning and the pricing of the portfolio of products that are targeting the Core Banking offering with special focus on solutions targeted Banks Retail business segment.


This position will report directly to the Chief Product Officer, whom reports to the Deputy CEO of Sopra Banking Software in charge for the “BUILD” (R&D, Product Management, Marketing).

Role & Responsibilities

The Head of Product Management Core Banking is responsible for both products planning and products marketing. This includes managing the products’ in portfolio throughout the whole lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The role also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support company’s overall strategy and goals. In addition

  • Defines the product strategy and roadmap
  • Coordinates the PM’s team to deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Ensure that his team performs product demos to customers
  • Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • Deliver a monthly revenue forecast
  • Coordinates the development of sales tools and collateral
  • Propose an overall budget to ensure success
  • Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings
  • Brief press and analysts and go on press tours
  • Act as a leader within the company



  • Minimum of 15 years experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager or similar roles
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • 10+ years of experience in a job in the banking industry market
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
  • Technical background, with experience in development of software solutions and knowledge of the new enabling technology trends such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain etc, as well as delivery mode such as SaaS, PaaS, etc.
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Must be able to travel to support the field in customers and institutions relations
