Position overview
Vermeg is currently looking for a strong Project Manager / Project Director for its life insurance activities. As a Project Director, you will join a team of highly-skilled professionals dedicated to helping Vermeg’s clients achieve their IT objectives. You will have the opportunity to work on, and lead stimulating projects in major companies of the insurance and financial industry. Creating partnerships with clients and identifying opportunities that add value for Vermeg and these clients are part of this challenging position.


Reporting
You report to the Director Professional Services and will be part of the Vermeg Life Professional Services Department.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Estimate, execute and monitor projects from initiation to delivery
  • Ensure projects are completed within a certain set of constraints (quality, time, budget,
    people and materials)
  • Build and get validation of timeline, project plan against requirements and
    constraints
  • Closely follow the project timing, budget and scope throughout the project life cycle
  • Manage, coordinate, coach and motivate the Project Team
  • Conduct regular steering committees
  • Have ability to structure and write meeting minutes
  • Resolve issues and solve problems throughout the project life cycle
  • Develop and do the follow-up of the documentation relating to the project
  • Assess project related risk issues
  • Act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members
  • Ensure efficient and pro-active resource allocation
  • Coordinate and ensure efficient communication between departments
  • Ensure effective post-go live transition
  • Participate to pre-sales activity (project dimensioning and presentation)

Ideal candidate profile

Training
A University degree or equivalent

Languages
Fluent in English and in Dutch

Specific Experience

  • 5 years in Project Management
  • Strong Capacity to identify areas of improvement in proposed solutions
  • Strong interest in insurance and financial industry


Soft Skills

  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Quick self-starter, pro-active attitude, excellent business sense
  • Strong interest in IT solutions designed for the life and health insurance industry
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
